Caroline

Tseggay

LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

CLINICALLY SUPERVISED

Hello there!

My name is Caroline Tseggay (pronounced Cah-roh-lee-nee Se-guy) and I use she/they pronouns. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker supervised by Sarah Herrera, PhD, LCSW-S. I am EMDR, CPT and DBT Skills trained.

For a little while, I thought nursing was my calling. During my clinical rotations, I realized my favorite part was when I got to talk to my patients and not only understand them but also connect with them. That was when I decided to leave nursing school and switch fields. I went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. From there, I spent two years getting my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.

I have experience working in a variety of settings, from inpatient treatment at behavioral health hospitals to PHP/IOP programs and private practice. My first job after I got my MSW was in a behavioral hospital where I worked with women, LGBTQ+ individuals and those with personality disorders with history of trauma. To this day, these continue to be my areas of expertise.

Although I no longer work in an inpatient setting, I work as needed as a program therapist for a PHP/IOP group and have been seeing clients in private practice since September 2022!

WHO AM I?

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

Relationships can be difficult to navigate, both with others and with oneself, and not having the right tools can make a difficult job even more challenging. Add to this day-to-day life events and unprocessed trauma, and it can be easy to feel like things will not get better, leaving you feeling empty and hopeless.

I want to be there on your journey by holding the space for you, helping you process your thoughts and feelings, learning who you are and what you need, and supporting you as you learn new skills, strengthen the ones you already have, process your trauma safely, and develop and/or nurture healthy relationships.

I primarily work with clients who have been diagnosed with or suspect they have Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and/or (c)PTSD. In addition to working with BPD issues, I also work with individuals who struggle with:

Trauma

Social Anxiety

Mood Disorders

Self-Esteem and Self-Worth

Gender Identity and Sexuality

Interpersonal Relationships

Adjustment to life changes

Substance Use

I have an eclectic approach in therapy because I believe in individualized treatment! Some of the modalities I use include:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy

  • Motivational Interviewing

  • Relational Therapy

  • The Gottman Method

I use humor (because we deserve to laugh too!) and genuine interactions in sessions to foster a safe and supportive environment for growth, learning, and processing.

I see my clients in person and virtually (if we do have a virtual session, my two doggies may be somewhere in my office, but they are also HIPAA compliant I promise!)

If you are ready to begin your healing journey, reach out to schedule a consultation or an appointment. I look forward to working with you!
